Gartner EDR Report Highlights the Emergence of NGAV
In Gartner’s recent technological EDR assessment, “Comparison of Endpoint Detection and Response Technologies and Solutions,” Cb Response was cited as the most talked about solution in the industry and achieved the best possible score in every category of its comparative analysis.
Gartner’s report also includes some additional, thoughtful analysis that underscores the emergence of the Next-Generation Antivirus market:
“EDR tools have been expanded beyond their initial scope of pure data collection and analysis. Most tools now include capabilities related to stopping or remediating malicious activities, and some even include prevention features,” the report reads.
Carbon Black’s recent acquisition of Confer reflects this evolution in the market.
By adding Confer’s NGAV product (which has been renamed “Cb Defense”) Carbon Black can stop more attacks than other NGAV products using a combination of endpoint and cloud-based technologies. Simply put, Cb Defense meets the needs of organisations that want easy and better prevention, with built-in detection and response. The result is that organisations using Carbon Black can stop more attacks, see more threats and close security gaps.
To reflect Gartner’s notation that “EDR tools have been expanded beyond their initial scope,” Carbon Black’s single platform is designed to replace ineffective antivirus, lock down critical systems, and arm incident-response teams with the most advanced tools to proactively hunt down threats. By adding NGAV to EDR, Carbon Black is leading the way in the market.
