Tenable Network Security Acquire FlawCheck - Container Security
Tenable have officially acquired the container security company, FlawCheck. Docker and other containerised deployment solutions have risen in prominence over the last 12 months – at least 22% of software development organisations use some form of containers with a further 31% looking to implement in the next 12 months according to the Cloud Foundry Foundation.
FlawCheck scans these containers throughout the software development cycle to ensure vulnerabilities in those containers and the applications within can be discovered prior to full scale deployment.
These containers are often updated or redeployed on the fly, making visibility into the contents and the vulnerabilities attached extremely difficult. With the introduction of FlawCheck support, DevOps teams can now continuously monitor those containers for changes in content and new vulnerabilities within the Tenable toolchain and existing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) system.
Tenable were already one of the first Vulnerability Assessment tools to market with capabilities to audit Docker instances but this new acquisition will bring even more functionality to the entire Tenable portfolio.
